Shrewsbury, MA April 22, 2009 – Dovetail Internet Technologies, an emerging web content management solutions provider, today announced a profitable 2008 with 30% growth, along with a strong first quarter in 2009 despite economic challenges. The company appointed Michael J. Villa, founder and former president, to CEO and Mark Peters, former director of operations, to president after securing an undisclosed amount of financing that allowed it to buy out its seed investor.
“We are very pleased that in a time when many lenders have lost confidence in companies, Dovetail was able to secure the financing needed to take the business to the next level,” said Villa. “As we mark our tenth year in business we are confident in the future. Over the past year, we have added many new clients and have made substantial investments in our flagship product, novo. This, along with the addition of staff, has helped us become well recognized in the banking and manufacturing industries. Now we are poised to expand into new industries and new geographies.”
“As people look for ways to market their businesses, more industries are turning to online marketing,” said Peters. “Dovetail’s novo gives companies control over their websites – the center of online marketing programs – by providing solid content management that allows them to make updates quickly and easily, manage their search engine optimization, and provide the ability to create secure intranets for partners and employees.”
In Latin, novo means change, refresh, revitalize—all words that speak to Dovetail’s goals with content management systems. Novo was developed recognizing the needs of marketers and businesses – its features grew from real life use, not a development backroom. Novo users choose the features most important to their businesses and, therefore, the pricing that makes sense for them, allowing the internet marketing solution and investment to change as a business grows and evolves.
"The overall benefit we have seen with novo is the ability to quickly and easily update our web site,” said Melissa McLoud, marketing for The Community Bank (http://www.communitybank.com/). “We are able to track the ‘most used’ web pages, and this information provides increased visibility to the areas of the business drawing the most customer inquiries. As a small community bank, we have to be efficient with our resources. novo allows us to achieve that while meeting the ever-changing communication needs of the organization.”
